La Leche League Canada; Our Featured Charity for The Month of August

As a mom that breastfed two kids into toddlerhood, I can attest to the challenges and difficulties firsthand. And these are no more pronounced than in those early weeks; when mom is recovering from birth, and baby is adjusting to life outside the womb with all it’s stimuli.
An organization like La Leche League is an invaluable resource to moms and new families when they are at their most vulnerable; stressed, sleep deprived, hormonal, and full of dreamy (often unrealistic!) expectations.

Autism Canada; our featured charity for the Months of June and July

"I hope it is okay to share this here as I feel like there's not much more that I can do as a mother, but spread the word. I was babywearing at 2am this morning, because my almost 4-year old son with ASD woke up crying inconsolably. For about an hour, he was adamantly trying to communicate to my husband and I as to what was bothering him, but could not articulate it in a way that we could understand. At one point, all three of us were in tears, because we couldn't understand him. Our woven wrap saved us… he was able to mutter "piggyback" through tears when I mentioned the wrap.
Earlier yesterday, I carried him for a different reason. I did so in order to join other ASD families across the province to advocate for our children and the IBI therapy that my son and so many other ASD children desperately need in order to find their voices and engage with the world around them. We have spent 1.5 years on a wait list for this… other children have waited even longer… and the government is now denying them services before they've even received any. It just isn't right. #AutismDoesntEndAt5"

Compassion Society of Halton; Our Featured Charity for the Month of March

Last month I had the pleasure of visiting the Compassion Society of Halton, to drop of eight boxes of diapers as part of our Facebook "Likes" diaper campaign. While there, the Operations Manager Samira was kind enough to give me a tour of the premises, where I met some of the wonderful volunteers that selflessly donate their time. It was a great opportunity to learn more about the work the Compassion Society of Halton does within our community.

LennyLamb Exclusive: "My Favourite Genes"

A parent's love can change a child's future, right on a genetic level, in ways we're only on the cusp of discovering. The love, care, and nurturing you provide can literally change not only your child's future health, but that of your children's children for generations to come. And the sweetest part? The power of a parent's love knows no bounds. You can leave an imprint of your affection on a child you're not genetically connected to. To all the adopted moms and dads out there, to the foster carers and the step-parents - your love is written within every single cell of your child.
